Workforce

Workforce Inspectorate Victoria receives and refers complaints related to Victorian Government construction projects and promotes and enforces Victoria’s; 

• child employment laws 

• long service leave entitlements 

• owner driver, forestry contractor, hirer and freight broker obligations. 

Our vision is to create productive and prosperous workplaces for all Victorians – we want to see fairer conditions for workers and a level playing field for businesses. 

We have four strategic priorities to enable us to deliver on our vision and role; 

1. Modern Regulation: we are an effective regulator who employs modern practices to prevent and reduce harm in Victorian workplaces. 

2. Educate and inform: we educate and inform the community about workplace rights and obligations. 

3. Understand our stakeholders: we seek to better understand those we serve. 

4.Strong and trusted relationships: we develop strong relationships to further our compliance objectives and build public confidence in our work.
